The challenge for many who aspire to learn more about wine is the notion that there is so very much you can learn, but there are also a lot of directions you can go. That’s not always an easy thing to figure out. A long-time wine educator, Wes tells us about the merits of pursuing Master Sommelier and WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) certification as well as other learning opportunities that can put you on the fact track to where you want to go.

Know for his very pragmatic and relatable style of teaching, if there was ever anyone in the wine business you’d like to advise you on how to get from point A to point B, it’s Wes Hagen. By the way, Wes has been the author/co-author of 3 AVAs. We don’t know of any other winemaker who has accomplished that feat. And if you’re not sure what that means, Wes will explain it all to you at SommCon!
