Our special guest, direct from Australia’s Gold Coast, is broadcaster extraordinaire Mike Ryan.
This was supposed to be the year that Grape Encounters host David Wilson was going to spend an entire month in New Zealand and The Land Down Under. Unfortunately, like so many grand plans that we previously made for this year, COVID-19 has done an extraordinary job of sucking the fun out of life. These days, we have to do a lot of things virtually and catching up with everything that’s going on in Australia is no exception.
For several years, Grape Encounters was heard all over the Australian continent, thanks to wine-loving Australian broadcaster, Mike Ryan. Mike once lived and worked in the United States as a disc jockey on the Central Coast of California, where Grape Encounters is located today. It’s where his taste for good wine became refined! Mike is the brain child and voice of Business Now Asia Pacific; a very cool online broadcast that covers everything imaginable going on in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, China and beyond. Soon, David will be a regular guests on the broadcast. Stay tuned for that. In the meantime, David and Mike decided it would be cool to compare notes where wine is concerned on their respective home turf.
Just what kind of wines from America are finding their way to Australia? What Australian wines are not making it to America, that we really ought to be drinking? These questions and so many more will get answered in this very laughable edition of Grape Encounters. It’s a delightful conversation between two guys on two different continents… and it really is too cool! Join the fun. This conversation offers a welcome departure from the steady diet of Covid and politics that overshadows the good things in life. Listen in as Mike and David daydream about getting together in Australia and exploring all things wine and much more.
