Can wine chase the blues away? On this edition of Grape Encounters Radio, host David Wilson is joined by special guest Christopher Sawyer, otherwise known as the Sommelier to the Stars. Christopher is a renowned figure in the wine industry, and he’s here to talk about how wine can be enjoyed to help chase away the blues. This isn’t about catching a buzz; it’s about finding simple joys and building connections and conversations with friends, family, and new acquaintances over a shared love of wine.
Let’s face it, the past couple of years have not been much fun… in fact, they’ve been downright depressing at times. But Christopher Sawyer is here to remind us that wine can be a source of simple joys and happy memories, even in the darkest times.
Wine, family, and friends are an excellent recipe for rejuvenation, and Christopher knows a thing or two about making friends. Nobody does it better. But be forewarned… if you ever go to an event with him, plan on being there a long while because he can’t make it across the venue without striking up a conversation with everyone in attendance! The upside is that Christopher knows how to make any event fun just by being there.
By the way, there is a bit of science behind wine’s ability to adjust our attitude positively. Research has shown that wine can help to release “happy” chemicals in the brain, like serotonin and dopamine. So, if you’re feeling down, a glass of wine may be just what the doctor ordered! But as Christopher Sawyer will tell you, it’s not just about the wine. It’s about the people you share it with and the memories you make while enjoying it.
