These are wines that are produced by some of the most acclaimed winemakers in the world but bottled under names that differ from their better-known brothers and sisters.

Second label wines may differ in a variety of ways. First they may be produced from grapes that didn’t quite make the cut that separates premium wines from wines that might be a tad less exclusive but delicious all the same. Second label wines may also be made from fruit that is not estate ground. That doesn’t mean that the fruit isn’t high in quality, It just means that it wasn’t grown on property owned by the producer.
